Roamers
 

Hi all - new guy here. Has anyone used the Roamers on the sahara overland site? I downloaded the :1,000,000 IGN Roamers, and printed them off and now have the maps (Map Shop) but the roamers dont fit the one degree map squares. They are all too small. The map scale is correct. Help ! Any ideas please

From what you say, the map must have grid squares. Presumably these are based on a geometrically flat/square grid - not the varying width of geographic lines of longtitude or a similar system of map projection. And that the references you are attempting to plot are from the same grid origin point as your map.

The simplest and most accurate solution would be to make your own roamer based on the length of a printed grid square on the map itself. (First check both Northings and Eastings are the same and consistent across the map)

Depending on scale and desired accuracy you may need fine 'geometry set' dividers or other precise measuring instrument to get the intermediates 'spot on' on your self made roamer.
