Postcards for Petrol - Help a biker out and get a postcard in exchange.

Hey guys and gals. I'm Jesse, first time poster, long time lurker. Currently traveling around Europe on an '04 Aprilia Pegaso that I picked up in Ireland (with a little help from Wheatwacker)

Made it through France, Belgium, The Netherlands and now Germany before series of mechanical issues drained my break-down budget and cut into my fuel $$.
Too proud to beg, and too stubborn to give up without a fight, I've started a project to create a job for myself and fund my fuel.

In a nutshell, I'm selling one-of-a-kind, handwritten postcards at $5 a pop (shipping included), sent from wherever I'm at (Currently that's Berlin, soon to be Prague).

Read a bit more about my project, adventure, etc. at:

Postcards for Petrol | Exploring and connecting the world, one postcard at a time.

or help a fellow biker out and order a postcard at:

send you a handwritten postcard from Europe - fiverr

If you have any questions, post them below or send me a PM.

Don't want a postcard but still want to make a difference? Spread my story at your local bike shop, riding club or online, I could use all the help I can get.
Alternately, if you're located in central or Eastern Europe, and have some cash work available, I'd be pretty stoked for the opportunity. I'm a hard worker with some good skills.

Thanks!

-Jesse

Thumbs up postcards for fuel

Hello Jesse,

welcome to the HUBB.

I like your idea a lot and I am sure it will work out.

I would go to a petrol station ... talk to the owner of the station, or the person working there, explain what you are doing and ask for permission ... park your bike so that everybody can see it ... and then explain your idea to the motorists and try to sell them the postcards (which they will receive in the future to their house) ... and I am pretty sure within an hour or two your tank is full ... the internet is anonymous, better talk to people directly... just my 2p worth

Saludos

Hi Mika,
Thanks for both the welcome , and the thoughtful reply. Pretty great idea actually. I'd was hoping to leverage the power of the internet, but there's no reason I couldn't do it in person.

Hope you're having a good summer.

-Jesse

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
