OK, I give up.
What has happened to the Bulletin Board? Since the CD meet every time I open the BB I get a lovely picture of Grant and Susan smiling out at me. Not the worst scene in the world by a long chalk but after scrolling down to the posts then selecting one I am sent back to the top and find Grant and Susan smiling at me again, I scroll down, read the post, select another and hi Grant and Susan. This happens every time I make a selection. How can I get just the familiar HUBB header up when I check in and move around the BB and give Grant and Susan a break. Ride safe.

I had the same until I noticed the message above in the yellow box. It says:
"If the HUBB "looks funny" please force a refresh to get the latest code update.
(Hold down the shift OR ctrl key, and click the refresh button on your browser.)"
I think SHIFT-F5 fixed it for me. Although the "New Posts" thing is still a little wonky.

maja, are you using that confounded thing called 'Internet Explore' produced by Microsoft by any chance?
If so, is there any reason you are not able to move to a better browser?

I'm a great fan of chrome, but with Win 8 on a Tablet, Explorer 10 is far better, chrome is slower and also pinch and zoom does not work which in itself is a deal breaker 
But on topic, neither Google Chrome (Win7 on a desktop) or on my Tablet Explorer 10 are showing this website as the owner wishes.

How odd, I admit that I don't use Microsoft these days, but on the Mac, which I use FireFox ver 21 it works totally fine. Also, on this laptop running Linux Ubuntu and again FireFox or Chrome it all appears in order and smooth to me.
Did your tablet come with a pre-installed version of Chrome or is that something you installed yourself?
I'm curious with what could the problem be, but can understand what a frustration it is for you.
Ooops, I just realised, we should really be discussing this in the thread already setup as walkabout reminded us.

From a non geek, I would say there is a problem with this website scaling correctly to different screen resolutions
Mine is 1280 by 1024 and although I have refreshed numerous times, I have to scroll horizontally to see the whole page, as it happens the forum part is in the middle, it's the "new" column with the Translate this page that I can only see half of.
The Tablet is also not scaling correctly.
Not a problem to me at all and I'm not moaning but Grant and Susan should know that something maybe wrong.

Yes, you are right twent4seven, I just tried this out by going into webpage responsive mode and can see that there is a toggle point at very close to 1396 pixels wide.
I wouldn't have seen this normally, as my screens are wider than 1400 pixels wide.
On that toggle point of 1396 pixels one of the web page divs re-positions itself and you see a horizontal scroll bar. If I keep bringing down the page width, there is no fluidity in the divs on the page, the page simply gets cropped to what is on the left side.
Yes, this will need attending to as on any low resolution screens it will prove to be more difficult to use or navigate this site. They will need to set up the page to be more fluid for the various screen widths out there.

Nope.
When you brows a web site, any web site, the page and its set-up are stored in tor computers cache memory.
When you return to a known site, the browser loads the "page" from the cache memory and the content - ie. new posts, from the site.
You have to force a page refresh to reload your cache with the current page layout.
In Firefox its Ctrl - R
IE is Ctrl - F5 ( I think)
Chrom - Ctrl - F5 or Shift F5
You may need to do it a couple of times.

Yes, this is true in the sense that your web browser software stores certain web content and on re-visiting the same site, it checks a web page modified attribute to see if it should reload the web page. If there have been no changes since the last visit, it loads from the local browser cache. Remembering that a given web page can consist of one to a number of individual files, with each being checked for having been modified. This mechanism is employed to reduce unnecessary internet traffic.
This is not the problem here I suspect. It is to do with the way the forum page has been designed and no amount of refreshing will change how twenty4seven will see how it is displayed on their computer. It is to do with div scaling as the screen resolution is reduced, in that the main content div for this forum does not automatically resize. Also, the left page gutter should disappear before resizing the main content div, which it does and then re-appears to be reduced again. I find the minimum usable width with how the HUB forum can be used is 1100 pixels wide. You will have a horizontal scroll bar, but at 1100 pixels wide you will see all the main content. Once you reduce to below 1100 pixels, the main content simply gets cut off rather than adjusted to fit an ever smaller resolution.
Generally, there are a number of standard sizes that the web page should render to as a default for a specific horizontal screen resolution, and this I believe is what needs attending to.
I have mentioned some key combination on the thread that deals more specifically with website looking not right as mentioned in my post above.

I had the same problem. As you say, I suspect there i something wrong in the html/php that it does not automaticaly refresh.
The ctrl/r should do it.
Have you tried installing a new browser - iron for instance, to see if that fixes it?

More importantly, what did you see on your screen?
Can you tell us what your hardware is as this I believe will say more than a specific browser with what I understand people are having problems with.
A page refresh may rectify other problems, not necessarily this this problem people are experiencing.
There need only be some work done to the page layout, not necessarily PHP, but the HTML and or CSS side of things I think.
The site is based on pre HTML 5 standards, not that that matters, but when I look at the HTML code, wow, what a load of stuff there is for the poor client to crunch on to display a page. This means netbooks and other low performance hardware may struggle with all the javascript and other files needed to load. It's good that TapaTalk is up for mobile devices.
I read somewhere where Grant mentions there is a lot just to keep Microsoft's web browser, Internet Explorer working. I can imagine that.
I'd suggest we have this thread continue in the appropriate section as this is not a 'travellers question that don't fit anywhere' topic.

My problem manifested itself thus:
The right hand bar containing the photos of Sue & Grant, (lovely though they are), were displayed on the LEFT side of the screen and BEFORE the forum or any other diplay. You had to scroll down to see content.

Microsoft have been a pain for years, almost forever because they do not stick to W3C agreed standards and include lots of bespoke commands... just look a the crap code generated by... what was it? Publisher. Writing routines to detect different browser types was a pain in the 'arris
I'm an OldSchool (ex)IBM sysprog so used to write all my own html and now use Textpattern.
