Buying Riding Gear in New Delhi

Hi all - a friend and I will be in Delhi in September to start a three week trip up into the mountains. We need decent gear and helmets and were thinking it may be easier to buy them there than pack and carry them.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for places we can buy textile jackets with zip out liners and street or motocross helmets? What are the prices like compared to U.K or US prices?? I've been looking on E-Bay and there are some good products there but shipping to Taiwan (where i am currently) almost doubles the cost and I cannot find anything locally to purchase that is a reasonable price.

Thanks.

Some of this stuff looks interesting. They ship anywhere in the world, as well as having sales points all over India.

Sorry Giacomo, your link doesn't seem to work but the address properties suggests it is Cramster - I've checked out their site and their stuff looks not too bad - although no cheaper than what I can find on E-Bay - but I was hoping for someplace where I could go and try stuff on instead of buying it sight unseen.

Oops...sorry about that, yes I did mean Cramster, their stuff is supposed to be acceptably good. On the contact page on their website you'll find the address of their shop in Delhi.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
