fuel

hi,

a friend of mine and I are planning an overland trip uk-south africa this summer and we would like to know what fuel availability is like? what types of fuel are available and how often. What type is most available? how much extra fuel is it adviseable to carry?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mark

On what route? There is a big difference between the east coast and the west coast routes!

Basically adequate fuel is available everywhere, I've never heard of anyone having a great problem. Big fuel tank is nice, but on most routes not necessary - depending of course on what you're riding and it's stock range - and you don't tell us what it is you're riding
