Caricaturist or cartoonist?

Hi Guys and Galls.
This is probably the most random question ever asked on the HUBB, but are there any cartoonists on the HUBB?

Maybe all will become clear (if you can be bothered to read my ramblings). So the short short version of the background: My wife and I have decided to go on a two up RTW, and we have (like so many others) decided to make a website to document and promote our ride (among other reasons). Although I am a complete webmaster virgin I have decided to make the web-page myself (believe it or not!!). All is going quite well, until we (okay I) ran into a snag. We ran aground when we decided on a personal logo.

I am an okay true-to-life artist so I sat down with my sketchbook and had a crack. The result was that I never knew how much skill takes to draw a caricature or cartoon. It gets even worse when you try and incorporate a machine and some creative editing of the “people”. (The distorting things enough to make them exaggerated but not so much that it no-longer looks like the original is really a skill!!! One I don’t seem to have.:confused1: Hats off to those that can!) Bottom line is that you have to be so much better an artist then I am!

So that brings us back to the question are there any cartoonists on the HUBB? If there is, are any of you willing to help? I can provide you with (bad) attempts, photos and details of what we want. What I cannot offer you is money but you will receive credit and our thanks on the website (how is open to discussion). As well as our unending gratitude and a gratuitous posting on the HUBB about how good you are! I am not looking for an entire logo, just a colour caricaturist or cartoon of us on the bike (with a bit of a twist), I will then manipulate it into the rest of the logo via GIMP.

I know this is a bit odd so don’t be afraid to tell me to B##### off!
Cheers all
Xander (with hat in hand!)

This may be a long shot, but if you don't have any luck on here try the UKGSERS site. Go to the 'Scotland' section and give 'Ronno' a shout, I have seen some of his work and it's very good I don't know him (I just lurk on UKGSERS), but he seems approachable

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
