Hi all, I want to comment on an idea.

In July I will travel on my Road King of Valencia (Spain) to the North Cape in Norway.

The problem is now, I'll be a year without work, and will have U.S. $ 1,300 a month to live.

In addition I have about 6,000 dollars, to begin the journey.

Not to do, knowing that you have a month for the year 1.300 U.S. dollars, "you would still to Asia (Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia ... etc.) or you think that is very little money to try to make a RTW? .

That is, I will have a U.S. $ 21,000 for one year. Will I risk or I'm going home without fulfilling my dream?.

hmmm It would be very possible. Thats about $1750 a month.. People do it on way less.

It also depends where you go. Choose cheaper countries and a route with not much shipping/flying.

Also avoid countries where you need carnets and lots of visas (Africa)

Maybe get a smaller more economical bike. Sell your big expensive gas guzzeling Harley for something small and you will spend less money on petrol ! (which is one of the biggest costs)

sounds like a perfect budget to me.. just for living...
if you got a prepared bike and the kit already... well hit the road than...
I wouldn't wait.... do it.

I would even start with less money. Have fun and do wild camping at local places insted of expensive hotels :)

budget is the one thing I am really struggling to work out there are too many factors, Carnet, beer or no beer, food,shipping, petrol (every country costs are different) breakdown etc etc etc I think the best way is save as much as you can and go as far as you can/want doing it the way you enjoy it. If you run out head home save some more and go again.

Beer is expensive in Norway, so if you ride through Germany or Denmark on your way up to the North Cape make sure to bring a couple of days supply :online2long:
You might spend less money if you do some of the riding through Sweden (gas, food), but then you wont see our beautiful coastline..

Touring Ted, the motorcycle is the Harley, it is no more prepared for these trips, but I trust her. Fast Pass by the rich countries and I will stay several days for the poor, so can save more money.

Yes, I agree. Your 5 biggest expenses in Norway are accommodation, fuel, road and ferry tolls, food and drinks.

I addressed this as follows:

Accommodation - free camped most nights and stayed at hostels for 2 nights
Fuel - not so much a problem as my 650 Burgman used less than 4.5 litres per 100 km without needing to take it easy, in any case speed limits are low in Norway.
Tolls - I tried to avoid tunnels and ferries whenever possible but it is not possible to totally avoid this especially the last tunnel into NordKap itself.
Food - I usually only eat one meal a day when I am travelling so I would buy food from supermarkets instead of eating in a restaurant. On the odd occasion I stayed in a hostel I found the breakfast is included so I made sure to eat plenty so I did not need to eat again that day.
Drinks - I basically did without, alcohol is a luxury I can forego if it is too expensive.

Yes, I have understood that there is free camping in Norway, so party uses that option.

Also will buy the food in supermarkets, but that to do only one meal a day .... ufff ... hard .. haha.

Anyway my idea is to go through expensive countries faster and cheaper to stay in longer.

I accept invitations to beer by Norwegian bikers. When you come to Spain the beers on me that here are very very cheap and you put up a "cap/ tapa" for free, hehe.

Bip Bip Hello, my intention is to Norway in late July as I go from Spain to Switzerland on 15 July.

Spend a few days in the Swiss Alps and then travel to Norway.

I want to be at the North Cape by 10 August.
