Brit looking for an American for a small favour

Hey Guys

I am from England but currently in Chile and in the process of buying a motorbike [KLR650] off another Brit. He bought the bike in America (Colorado), where he registered it with a friend and then rode it down here.

For us to legally complete the title transfer I need to have a friend in the States (ideally Colrado) whos address I can put down on the title document. From what I gather this person will have absolutely no obligations except possibly recieving some post in my name. Maybe you can see where I am going with this . . .

If anyone knows anyone, or is themselves, keen to earn a large payment in and of course a very good friend - could I use their address to register the bike to. As i say - from people I have asked this should in no way ever come back to haunt them - it will purely be an address to use on the title document.

Hope you can help.

Hi

I did the same as you want to do some years back.

It is a very cool way to do it. He found a bike for me and registered it for me. So I could just fly in and drive off (after and fun of course).

Use advrider.com instead of the HUBB. advrider.com is mainly americans where the HUBB is very mixed.

Make a cool and fun "application" there and I am sure there will be lots of people willing to help you. You will need to take a leap of faith though, since you will be transferring money to someone you don't know to buy something you haven't seen.

I did it and I am sure you can do the same.

Good luck

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
