Bicycle or motorcycle? Many motorcycle hire places, but it depends on where you plan to go (US is a big place after all), and bikes can be found in many places. If you are thinking bicycle, perhaps purchasing a "higher end" one from Wal-Mart for about $150 US and selling it could be a simpler way to go? Just a couple quick thoughts.

What is your budget, if it is a motorcycle? There are many used motorcycles (i.e., I bought mine from a co-worker for $1k US) which could be sold on consignment or through a reputable member found here. Again, it all depends on which city/state you are coming to, and plan to leave from.

Common motorcycle rental places will be pricey, at least $80-$100 US/day.

site mash : : combined classified and auction listings searches through craigslist and ebay and is a good resource for buying a bike.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
