Name Sugestions for Club

Sitting here trying to kill time in the winther night, waiting for the snow to melt so I once again can take my wheels for a spin. I'm contemplating doing a trans Africa trip on a classic Vespa scooter (actually I am pretty far into the planning). If I do, I'd like to start an international club for overlanding scooter enthusiasts who has undertaken long and/or challenging trips by scooter. The problem is that the only two cool names I can think of are both taken, and neither of the clubs give any justice to their names what so ever. I have found no such club to join, that is why I thought it was about time someone did something about it. The two names I have thought about so far (both taken):

Nomad SC (SC as in scooter club)
Overlanders SC

Any suggestions about name and logo?

I posted on a scooter BBS and have gotten the following suggestions so far:

The Vagabonds
The Drifters
The Pilgrims
Galavant SC
The Tramps
Saddlesore
Trippers
Long Haul
We Must Be F**king Mad
Iron Butt Scooter Club. g.
the flaming taints
Marco Polo scooter club
Flat World scooter club
The Continentals
Scooter Immigrunts (yes I meant to put grunts)
HTEs.c. - Here there and Everywhere s.c.
Why name it? - put a map of the world on there with s.c. over it.
Sore Ass Scooter Club
Carpal Tunnel Scooterists
FUV's Suck Everywhere SC
Hunchbacks SC
Two Stroke Bacon Smoke SC
InterloperSC
The adventurers
The bordercrossers
The conquerers
No boundaries

SCOOTOURISTS S.C.
"only the purists are tourists"

Pleas add your own, it will be fun.

Some other associations to scooters:
two stroke
"2%" (as in the oil mixture that Vespas use, and as a mocking to the "1%" some bikers use because they claim not to be of the 99% of bikers which are nice and decent folks).

Hi Wheelie,

I thought this would be an ideal time for my first posting - and suggest the following name which i think is very appropriate considering what Vespa means in Italian !.

"The flight of the Bumble Bees Scooter Club".

Don`t forget the ear-plugs !.

Cheers

Graham

One problem with that name:

Wasp = Vespa
Bumble Bee = Ape

Piaggio also have a three wheeled vehicle called Ape... I guess you can't really enjoy the name unless you know its translation...

But you are onto something

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
