A plug for my book

It is called: 100,000 miles of Solitude.

It took me three years to ride my bike around the world.
It took an other two years to write a book about it.

In reality I wrote most of the stories while 'on the road', but it was not finished yet. Not by a long shot. Grammar, consistency, spelling and a serious 'is it good enough'-check. More then half the stories ended up in the trashcan. The other half needed some re-writing, but in the end I was satisfied.

It is not a complete story. No book is big enough for that and it would be boring I think. It is a collection of 'tales from the road'. Short anecdotes, strange things that happened, stupid things I did.

It is available on Internet at www.lulu.com/content/722395
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed experiencing it.

To celebrate this milestone I also completely renewed the website -www.maartensworld.com- It has a few stories from the book. Lots and lots of photos and technical info about Pam (the bike) and the route.

Ofcourse I would like to hear your opinion.

How do we get an autographed copy?

mmaarten 22 Apr 2007 03:16

Tricky...

:rolleyes2: That is a difficult question.
Someone else, who also wanted a signed copy, sugested that I send him a postcard or a self-adhesive-label with a small message.
If you want that, just send me an Email with your adress and I'll send it asap.

If you want the signature to actually be in the book.... You will just have to come by:thumbup1:
Right now I live in Thailand, but I am planning to move to Bolivia soon. So, two options and a good excuse to go :mchappy: for a ride.

Hope this helps.

Temptation....

Hi Dave,

I am almost tempted to say: "Hang on, I'll come and bring it to you :mchappy: in England"...
but unfortunatly :( ... England is not on my route to Bolivia...
But after Bolivia I could :cool4: ....
