Travelling overland along west africa to malawi from uk

I wonder if anyone can help me. my friend and i are hoping to drive our 4x4 from england to malawi along the west side of africa so that we can take provisions to a school that we will be completing a build on. the provisons are exercise books, pens other school stuff and also clothes. The reason for my post is to ask if anyone has done the west coast recently and if they encounted any problems and what are the boarder customs like. Thanks for any comments back. Thistle

I think you need to be a little more specific in your question to generate a useful response. A good number of people travel the west coast route annually without any major problems.
