Hi there,

I am on my way from Delhi to Holland on an İndıan Enfıeld (Bullet 350) and I am in desperate need for a good servıce.

Can anybody advise me on a decent (Enfield)mechanic ın Turkey, who knows about classıcal machines??? At this moment İ am in southeast Turkey, working my way up to Istanbul via Ankara.

Thanks a bunch for replying (asap)!

BTW, Im doing thıs trip without the Carnet. Therefore İ had to put the bike on a train in Pakistan, but İ could work my way illegally through İran, hahaha! İf anybody needs advıce, just mail me!

Hi!

I had a broken rearwheelhub near Adana when I traveled with my Enfield from India back to Germany. In Adana was a guy that builds up old BMWs and was a genius with my Enfield (He welded the greycast (!) of the Hub and it work for more than 5000km!).

His name, or the name of his shop, was Enver Motors. I'm not sure if he's stil there. He was located around the airport.

If this does not help, contact the guys from ..:: OMM - One More Mile Riders ::... They are turkish motorcyclists and very nice (and can help you).

Good luck!

carnet issues

Olaf,

Very interested to hear more details on how you shipped the enfield to Turkey without a carnet. I'll be in India in Two weeks and am desperate to be able to buy a bike see India and somehow get it out of the country. The carnet issue really spoils the fun!

look forward to hearing from you. my email is jezzadime@hotmail.com

Cheers,

Jez

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
