Stuck in Aginskoye Russia 144km east of Chita
My 2006 BMW F650GS waterpump problem has me in shipping to russia HELL. HaHa. I will be at the hotel Sapsan probably until May 15, if your in the neighborhood stop by and visit with me. I was lucky to breakdown here, the village of 7,000 great and freindly people. If you are nearby and have 2 BMW part # 11517652905 I would like to buy them from you.
Thanks from an American. Clyde |
Have you checked with the BMW dealers in Moscow, Ekaterinburg, and Krasnoyarsk for the part? Moscow usually hardly has any parts in stock (and I imagine the others are even worse), but it is probably worth a check...one of those friendly people out there could help you with any phone calls, etc.

Still in Aginskoye
Shipping to russia is starting to happen after waiting 4 days for DHL america.
Seems they didn't like the ship to address here in aginskoye, a small village with a DHL dealer in the auto repair shop. Who cares ship the darn parts. Geeeeezzzzo now my shipment will leave america 5 days after ordering the parts and it's the weekend again. crap. Before ordering BMW parts from america I tried russia BMW moscow and places closer and they need 30 days to get parts from Germany so I called america and they had the parts next day but waited on DHL to pickup. Next time I come to Russia I will buy a Russian motorcycle and leave the BMW at home in america. BMW international needs a working english version of a part locator system and a simpler method of shipping worldwide. I tried there website and could never find the parts locator in english. Maybe I should have handled all the details before leaving america so my family could locate the parts and do the shipping to me. Till later. Clyde |

Still in Aginskoye Russia waiting on my parts
DHL has my parts in Moscow now and they say I should have them tomorrow the 11th then a day or 2 to get the bike running and I'm backon the road. Which direction will depend on how well the bike is running. Plan A is east to Vldivostok, plann B is south into Mongolia in a westerly direction to Germany and plan C ship the bike back to Germany by any means.
Plan A to Vlad then Magadan then back to Germany through Mongolia, Kazahkstan, Turkey, Greece then north to Germany. I hope to see some of you on the road. American Clyde |

Clyde, hi there and good to hear the great (???) news!!!
Hope you will really get the stuff so you can hit the road again! Why not hook up with Diethard (I am sure you can catch up with him - can't ya??) and join him on his trip to Japan? Well, whatever you go for, wishing you all the best, safe riding and CU around some day somewhere out on the roads!! |
Hi Clyde, good to read you have fixed the problem.
My wishes for a pleasant ride, now! |
On the road to Mongolia June 19
Finally got my parts and the bike is running good so far, another day here doing test rides then I leave for Mongolia, can't chance another problem going to Magadan. Too little Rissian Visa time to make the round trip to Magadan. Thanks to all for your cheers and info.

GREAT - and Diethard
Clyde, hi there!!
Good to hear that you are (also) back on the road! Was still hoping to meet you over here in Japan ..... but who knows. Diethard stayed with us from Thursday until today (Saturday) and left this morning at 10 to go to Kyoto and Nara (he will stay at a camp area). We had a great time with him and he will not been forgotten!! He was also full of praise when talking about you! Well, I wish you all the best, take care out there on those wild roads and please contact me if there is anything "we" can do for you! |
