Shaun Stevenson and Radek Vecera - Missing - Sangha River, or general Congo area

Hi Grant and Susan

South African Biker lost in Africa.-

I am with an organization called eblockwatch who finds Missing Persons in South Africa.

We have two guys on KTM's, Shaun Stevenson and Radek Vecera who where crossing Africa from the UK via Marocco,Western Sahara, Mali,Niger,Nigeria,Cameroon, DRC and then Congo. They are Lost somewhere on the Sangha River on a barge.

They were Hoping to reach Brazzavile by Christmas but according to Embassy in the Congo-they have not made it there yet.

The parents of Shaun(SA) normally get sms or e-mails daily but have not heard from them since 25th Dec 2007 -Christmas day. They were on a barge on the Sangha River and were stuck on sand banks when they were last heard from.

Could you ask all bikers who are in the area to help in the search and anyone who wants to help can Register for free on eblockwatch and copy ryfsny ATTT yebo.co.za to all e-mails.

Andre Snyman is the founder of the website.
You will be kept up to date on the search.

Kind regards
Mrs Carol Amos

Found!

From Carol Amos:

"Our members spread the word to their contacts in Africa, and the SA Embassy in the Congo offered to assist.
They enquired from other boats along all the points on the river where they have officials.

The news came back that the 2 bikers were still delayed on the river further up in the jungle and it is not certain how long it will be before they eventually get to Brazzaville.

Our contact at the SA Embassy will keep a look out for them so that we can get in touch with them when they pass through Brazzaville."

Update:-

They have now borrowed a canoe and are now paddling down the Congo River.

I think there should be a great story to tell when they get here. :)

Regards
Carol
