Santiago to Texas
 

Hello,

I am a young guy livin in Calama, Chile, but I am originally from Milwaukee Wisconsin.

I have never taken a long term bike trip and am look for advice from anyone who may have taken a similiar trip. (Starting in Santiago, Chile to the border of Texas. Once through the border I am comfortable, but passing through columbia and central america is something i need to seek advice on before i rough it.

It will be a solo trip, as of now, and the bike is still up in the air. I plan on doing most of the sleeping in a tent in local camp grounds and well hidden off road sanctuaries.

I want to set a time table, but really have no idea what to expect from the trip time wise as i have never made such a trip. Money is a question as well as routs through south and central america from those who have experience taking such a trip.
