Russian fuel prices?

Was wondering if there has been any increase since the elections. I looked a few months ago when the average price seemed to be around 20 rubles a litre. I'd read at some time the government were keen to keep prices in line with America. Anyone know what's happening? Thanks.

At present 95 octane ranges from 20 to 25 rouble (About 48-50 GBpence or US$1) per litre.
92 is generally 2-3 rouble cheaper.

I don't think the elections have any effect - its more the international oil price that they follow.

Moscow is generally slightly more expensive than far away.

In deep country you can even get 74 octane at the "bargain" price of about 15 rouble!!

I read that fuel companies were threatened by the Kremlin with state control of prices - which seems to have worked. That's a relief, especially when it's all going tits up at home. Bloody unbelievable!

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.
