Russia and Central Asia - Anyone Going?

Having spent months planning a trip to Nepal I've decided against because of the uncertainty in Iran and Pakistan. Instead I'm heading across Europe and the Ukraine to Russia as far as Omsk and then down through Kazakhstan to Central Asia and the Pamir Highway.

I will be leaving on the 8th August. Anyone else on the road around then?
