Nepal - Current Situation

What is the current situation in Nepal ?
We are in India and think about shipping to Thailand out of Kathmandu. Is the situation OK for travel and maybe some limited trekking ?
We heard some weird stories about the maoists from shout-outs to suppressing money from trekkers.
Thanks in advance Kai & Ulrike

Hi Kai & Ulrike,

For trekking and staying I would prefer Pokara, not Kathmandu -
there s still kind of fresh air in the City.

Did you already managed your Shipping??
I m also in Nepal, trying to Figure out the Best way, to Ship my Bike to Thailand,...

Thanks and save Travels,

Marc

You're replying to a 6 year old thread but I used Trans Air Cargo from B'kok to Kathmandu last year, all pretty straightforward but allow some time for paperwork and in particular the dangerous goods cert from the airline.
