Libya/Egypt border

I've not managed to corroborate this as yet, but anyone have any information about the border between Libya and Egypt being closed?

havent heard that but I would like to know as I need to cross it soon.
I read on the HUBB that you will not get across unless you have an Arabic translation of your passport BEFORE you get there as they will not do it on the border for you.

try the long way down web site to see how Ewan McGregor and co got on at the border.

which way are you going

We crossed at the end of May and apart from it being time consuming, was there absolutely no problem at all.

No translation of the passport is needed, but just make sure the rest of your documentation e.g. carnet is in order. We used some of our leftover Lybian money to get one of the locals to help us with the border procedure. Still took us over two hours to cross! Best money I've ever spent though!

Namsa.
