my name is Dave from new zealand
at the end of feb this year a friend of mine had an accident on his drz 400 and had go back to california to recover
before leaving he signed the right of use over to me and i have been keeping the paper work up to date with a tripe to Argentina every 3 month
i have since been involved in an accident and the international police took my passport making it imposable to go to argentina to renew the bikes visa
the chilean customs have suggested that i turn the bike over to them

what police force do you mean by international police?

As I understand it, the police has taken your passport so you cant leave Chile, correct? Nobody can confiscate your passport, it is not your property, it is property of your country ... contact your embassy as soon as possible.

If your friend could sign the right to use the bike over to you, than you could sign it over to another friend of yours and he could leave to Argentina with the bike - just an idea, I dont know if it would work (because the bike is in the immigration computer under your name I would say)

This is all I can come up with at the moment, sorry i dont know the regulations in Chile.
