How long after surgery?
Folks:

I just had inguinal hernia repair. How long should I wait before I start serious riding - do remember I am travelling in India where the roads are a little bumpy and my enfield here is a kick start. Any help much appreciated.

progresive
progresion is the answer, start to ride as soon as you feel, but ride "the easy way" avoiding bumping, drive softly,for short while
See and feel ...is ieverything is ok , you can progress slowely,
(waiting for two months and then....driving....that is not the proper way...I am afraid)

If your hernia surgery was like mine you ain't even going to want to see a motorcycle much less swing a leg over one for awhile. Don't rush to screw up your doc's work. Let it heal.

its been three weeks and a day and i rode for the first time today. i will take it easy for another week or so and then to the himalayas.

ditto. i broke my leg in Bolivia January 2006. I returned for major surgery in the USA while my bike bided its time in Potosi, Bolivia. I worked hard and thought I'd be back in 3-4 months. Not a chance. I returned 9 months later to Bolivia and still am cruising south america 8 months later... got it's a great continent...

seriously, you have to decide. but don't screw up. no reason to put yourself at any more risk. you'll know when you're ready. your body won't lie.
