My understanding is that until September you don't need a visa for the Ukraine due to the Eurovision Song Content having been held there. Check this thread: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb...ML/000250.html

thanks, i saw the mesage before. i wander if it will be the same if you arrive by ferry from georgia?
it seems i dont need a carnet in ukraine. visas on arrival i will get in romenia, hungary and the others on my way to belgium. but what about a carnet? these countries are not listed on the back. and if i dont need a carnet what will the fees be? anybody how has info on that....

about moldava.looks like its easy from the romanian side. visa on arrival from there and no letter of invitation required. but i am not coming that way. maybe somebody has experience coming from the ukraine side? Duba-on the way from krasni okni?
thanks

I'm pretty sure you don't need a carnet for any of those countries. As long as you don't wander into Iran I believe you'll be fine. I'm planning on getting from Russia somehow into Azerbaijan or Georgia and currently am thinking I'll have to go via Turkmenistan with a transit visa but I'm not sure there's a lot to see down there and loads of dessert so if you get information about a ferry from the Ukraine I might take that option. Unlike you though I want to head south out through Turkey.

NB!!! Ukraine: re-check if "visa-free" info is correct. Just heard it's VISA-free only if arriving/leaving at airports. Certanly check is there VISA requirement if entering country with own vehicle!
