French Driver Need Insurance Advice in the US

Hi!
I am planning a trip from the US to Argentina with my French motorbike. Does anybody know about IN TRANSIT INSURANCE in the US and in Mexico, and any other country in Central and South America. But for the moment, the US is my greatest concern.
Thanks

I called Progressive [1] (the largest and cheapest motorcycle insurance company in the US, as far as I know). Apparently, it's not a problem for you to subscribe an insurance from them. They will just bill you for a 1-year period and reimburse you for the difference when you call them to cancel because you are leaving the country.

The best way to proceed, though, would be for you to find someone who agrees to add you and your motorcycle to their policy in the US. I could do it if you like (contact me by email). I recently added my girlfriend and a bike for only $20/year! Problem: I'm leaving the country at the end of April. If the dates don't work, look under Community [2] if someone else in the US can take you on their policy, or at least be used as a mailbox at the beginning of your trip in order for you to subscribe your own policy.

For Mexico, you will have to buy your insurance at the border (or elsewhere but always from a Mexican company - I think it's a legal requirement).
