We bought a ticket for the ferry Damietta (Egypt) to Iskenderum (Turkey) on 21st. Our ship should leave on 22nd in the evening and all customs formalities were finished. In the afternoon we were told that the ship was delayed and would leave on 23rd in the early morning. On 23rd in the morning Kadmar (Egyptian Agend) was still selling tickets. Shortly afterwards were informed that there's a problem between Kadmar and SISA (Shipping Company) and the departure would be further delayed. Neverthelees on 24th we had to enter the port, learning after a few hours waiting that the ferry has been seized by Egyptian police due to some financial matters between Kadmar and SISA. Currently we're camping on an absolutely dirty parking inside the port with no facilities, not allowed to leave the area until somebody found a solution to the 800 000 USD which are disputed.
As we observed Kadmar selling tickets until they announced the problems inform yourself very carefully before spending any money with them.
We'll keep u updated.
