Thumbs down

Man, Simon, close call!

If there is anything I can help with, let me know.
Rest up and get well right - old bones don`t heal quickly
Are you going to leave the bike, if you needed it moved I`m sure it can be arranged.

glad to hear you`re alive and being looked after!

Damn and drat

Get well soon Simon, but I recognise that old bones take longer to repair themselves, so take your time and rest up.

The road will still be there for you when you are ready and maybe the spring will bring some better weather in the meantime.

Best wishes for your recovery,

Que hombre cabezón !!!!!

Simon

Oh SIMON!!!!!! So sorry. Damn, damn, damn. I found this sentence particularly discouraging and relatable:

"Riding the eighty kilometres to the Chilean frontier took four hours. The ambulance returns me to Rio Grande in an hour."

It's almost the weekend. I hope lots of lovely people come around and give you lots of hugs and serve you wonderful food and drink. And that you sleep and rest well.

I hope you're not in pain.
best to you Lorraine

Wondrous Friends

Thanks to all of you. I don't deserve sympathy for being a stupid idiot. Have had various emails from friends and family back in England doubting whether an Argentine in my situation would have been treated with a fraction of the kindness in the UK as I have encountered here. Wondrous friends...
I am going tohave the bike trucked to Honda in BA for reapair. Then when allowed, take bus and ferry and bus thru Chile across to Paraguay and down to BA to collect bike and restart ride. I guess that is two months or more. Meanwhile my adorable and pregnant American adoptive daughter is threatening to fly down and drag me home to up-State NY by the ear!!!!! simon (el abuelito)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
