Columbia to Panama - options?
 

I am in Peru at the moment so within the next month or so will need to get from Columbia to Panama. Has anybody done this lately ?, and by what method. Need to decide whether to fly or ride to coast and boat it. Any advice would be great.

when I came this way I flew from Panama City to BOgota with COPA, under $700 US for bike and about $370 for me. Check wunderbar website for sailings from Cartegena. A bit cheaper but more waiting and uncertainty...

I called up Girag in Panama the other day to see how much it would be to fly from there to Colombia and they quoted me a price of $900 just for the bike. Probably another $3-400 for your own ticket. I called up Copa too but they said that they have currently suspended all cargo flights to Colombia because of low demand. They said they might be up and flying here in a couple months but no certainty was given.

Personally I have been thinking about maybe just canceling the Mexico and Central America part of the trip and either shipping by air or ship from Florida to Colombia. I think that way I would either spend the same amount or maybe less.

I know that Girag is based out of Colombia so maybe you will get a better price there.
Other option is to take a boat which takes about 5 days.
