Hi...

I passed by there a few weeks ago, and unfortunately I don't remember the exact address, however it's very easy to find.

The BMW retailer is just 100 metres from the main Bus Station ( known as SAYAHAT) if you stand with the mountains to your back then just walk towards the left, facing the bus station along the busy road.

Sorry for the vague directions, if you need a precise postal address then I'll email my friends in almaty, just PM me.

BTW although it's a car retailer they told me that they can order motorbike parts from moscow....if you're willing to wait for 3 weeks!

Ciao.

Antonio

Tyres in Almaty

My friend and I are looking for exactlty the same thing and we can actually wait three weeks for the tyres to arrive! We will need new tyres after having ridden about 7500 miles on the existing sets of Continentals that are on the bikes. We would be very grateful for any information or help you can give us. We are currently in Omsk, in Russia and are looking to be in Almaty in the next two weeks. Via someone in the hotel here who speaks Russian we have called BMW in Almaty and have just been told that they can not order tyres for bikes and that they only deal with car tyres.

For your information here are the contact details for BMW Almaty:
Autocenter Bavaria
Raimbek Av 115
480016 Almaty
Tel: +7 3272500022 or +7 3272736220
This is their website: www.bmw.kz

Incidentally, we had the bikes serviced at BMW in Moscow. The service manager, Dennis, was very helpful. He actually sent a tyre to us in Perm, Russia after one of the bikes suffered a puncture when the front wheel went into a manhole with no cover on it! We are thinking about contacting Moscow directly to see if they can arrange to have more tyres sent to Almaty or contacting Continental in Germany directly. The only problem is that last time we spoke to BMW in Moscow (a week ago) we were told that they didn't have any more tyres in stock.
