the right side of the road
this is a tip for anyone riding in countries where they travel on the 'wrong' side of the road (for them).
place somewhere easily visible (map pocket on tank bag is an obvious choice) an arrow pointing towards the side of the road you should be on.
at times of panic or confusion, we tend to revert to habit - if your habit is to be travelling on the same side of the road as traffic coming towards you, this can be disadvantageous....
having a visual reminder is good way of ensuring that you are orientated when you need to be and might otherwise be not so clear thinking.
i adopted this idea last summer and it proved useful on more than one occasion.
I made this mistake a few times, so I adopted a little mantra each time I get on "Drive on the right (left), nice and steady". As well as getting me on the correct side of the road it helps calm me down, as I am invariably hot, sweaty and bothered by the time I get on in the morning.
