Selling a bike in mexico
Hey all
i just came back from Mexico, I bought my KLR in panama from an American guy who traveled south. I planed to sell the bike in Mexico city , and i did , but... it is not easy and i lost some of the bike velue. There are 2 problems: 1 - Mexicans are not allowed to drive a non Mexican plated vehicle. 2 - In order to import the bike u need to take it to the Mexican border and do it there, u can not do it in Mexico city like i thought. The price of importing your bike is 700 USD more or less So if u are planning on selling your bike in Mexico city ( not to a tourist that is traveling ) be aware of loosing your bike velue. Take care and enjoy your trip Nir

That's right you need to do it on the border and then sale the bike but if you don't want to lose value do it in province (avoid Mexico City) and you can actually gain the value of American resale value.
