Handy waterproof storage "safe"

I have an old "Mini Maglite" 2xAA battery size that is no longer needed as I use a LED head-light now with 3 power settings etc.
so, I took the batteries and the bulb and spring etc out of the 'Maglite' (but left the reflector in so it "looks" like a torch) and because it seals with 'o' rings it is waterproof and can be used to store a small emergency roll of money or whatever will fit in it...... ( I store a 100, 50, 20, 10, 5 =185 euros, this I think Is enough Money to get me home should I lose my wallet anywhere in Spain) this then fits inside the air filter housing in 2 specially made clips to stop it rattling.
It needs a screwdriver to get to ( always have my leatherman with me) so I'm not tempted to just "dip in" for a spend and emergency money is always there.

Maglite still looks like an expensive item -- if one founds it lying on the ground, he will definitely pick it up! So I don't think it is good idea to hide valuables inside this kind of items. Ok, it is in your air filter housing but otherwise I'd find something else that is not shining and looks like an useless piece.

rebaseonu....please re read....

I said OLD mini maglite! 10 years of abuse, scratched to death, hardly recognizeable AS a maglite actually...... looks like a cheap copy its so knackered! but the seals work and its waterproof, otherwise i wouldnt have used it......
But yes, your right, a newish one would look exspensive.........

Consider Maplins

as they have a good wide choice of tough abs plastic (and metal) small boxes which screw shut both ends.
I sealed one end with superglue then SFX paste (plumber's merchant) for waterproofness-
keep the other end screwed down.
Few quid etc well sealed in freezer bags then wrapped tight-
many places to bond/screw/hide on bike but as Walkabout said before...don't forget when trading bike in!
Or the slightly more complicated route of welding a small box to the bike !
