Enfield, Tappets, HELP!!!!
 

Can anyone explain me in a normal language how the tappets on a enfield work an how to adjust this. I've read the workshop manual and have seen the adjustments by a mechanic, abracadabra. Remains a big mystery. Can you help me explain this??

Get the piston to TDC on compression stroke, Slacken lock nuts on tappet adjusters, screw tappet adjusters in or out untill there is no movement up and down but the pushrods just lightly spin, tighten lock nuts, check pushrods still spin but have no movement up and down, If you don't understand the above let a mechanic do it for you.
