alternative to heavey expensive centrerstand
 

find small aluminium pipe from vacumn cleaner or the like for removing rear wheel push bike over on side stand and wedge pipe under footpeg mounting for front wheel do the same but put pipe under front of bashplate if using long cylindrical type of camping light find aluminium pipe with right diameter so light fits snug inside doubles up as certrestand and light protector saves room weighs nothing and costs nothing or little happy travels

You can also use a rope or tie-down to pull the bike sideways against a tree or post (assuming there is one available) while leaning on the kickstand.

Small velcro strap to clamp front brake lever "on." Then lean the bike onto the sidestand and frant wheel to change the rear (as said above, against a tree or something is perfect). Worked like a charm for my twinlamp Tenere.

On my new XR/L I have 2 ally pipes that slid into each other. They have holes drilled in them and a foot at each end. Using a splitpin I can lock the "stand" to any length. Can hold front / rear wheel off the ground very stably.

For removing the rear wheel I lay the bike on the ground (right side to give enough room to pull the spindle out). It's cheap, light, and there's usually plenty of ground just lying around! It works for the front wheel as well.
