WANTED: Suzuki drz400s pannier rails, Urgent! Cumbria, UK

Help!

I'm in need of the above pannier rails for a drz400s. Were about to leave on our big trip, but the place I was getting some rails from let me down.

So if anybody know where I can get my hands on a pair of these beauties please let me know. Even if someone can bodge me some. Where I live I havent got access to any tools or garage so cant make them myself.

They're for soft panniers so hit me with ideas guys.

Thanks a lot!

Very few commercially available options available for the DRZ. I'm making my own that incorporate a 5 litre fuel can.

Wolfman make pannier frames for the DRZ that are designed to work with their own soft luggage but I'm sure other luggage will also fit. They can be bought in the UK from:

Wolfman Motorcycle Luggage > Winding Roads Ltd

Here's a video of the racks & luggage on a DRZ-SM:

I've made my own pannier racks.. Just test ridden them over a 4 day camping/riding trip around wales and they worked great..

Whatever you do, keep them lightweight. Putting a 5L Jerry can is probably bad idea. The lugs on the DRZ are aluminium and not very strong. Same as the whole subframe really.

I think it's asking for trouble having anything heavy on the DRZ mounting lugs.

The racks are not only mounted to the subframe lugs near the silencer & battery but also to the steel rack plus there's a braced tube extending forwards from the front of each rack to the pillion peg mounts & then on to a bracket welded to the frame above the swingarm pivot on each side of the bike. This design braces the complete subframe. There's also a removeable brace connecting both sides of each rack at the rear.

It will of course be test ridden in advance & modified if needed.

I'll post them up when completed.

I was going well today, ready to line up two spacers ready for welding. Got interrupted by a marketing phone call & then proceeded to weld. Only then did I realise I welded the spacers on the wrong side of the pannier frame..... Out with the grinder & then turn up fresh spacers on the lathe.
