We're busy preparing our first africa overland trip and I'm desperately looking for an affordable second-hand rooftent.We live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, but I don't mind to drive a long way to save a lot of money.

Have you considered making your own? I started making my own last year but unfortunately never had time to finish it.

It’s not that difficult: 2 peaces of wood hinged to fold, Some aluminum support rods, tent cloth material attached to the aluminum rods and floor board to form the tent, and a canvas cover for protection when folded.

If interested I can give you a better description.

It already crossed my mind to make my own rooftent, but the technical preperation of our Range Rover already consumes almost all of my time.Thanks for sharing the idea with me, but I prefer to buy one.
I still hope somebody has a rooftent for sale .....
