For Sale UK: Quechua T2 Ultralight tent

Hi all.

My dad has decided to replace his tent with something a bit roomier as he does tend to bring a fair b it of kit.

So his old tent is up for sale. It is Quechua T2 Ultralight, bought new for £79.99 in about 2009.

In that time it has seen about 12 nights of camping in dry weather. He has used it when I've dragged on bike trips in Sweden and France and forbidden B&Bs!

It has seen one night of torrential rain in France last year. It stayed dry inside. I know this because only one of our tents stayed dry that night, and I wasn't in it...

It is a dome/geodesic tent pitched inner first then outer. He is including a foot-print that he bought from Blacks at cut to size (RRP £9.99).

Pros:
Packs down nice and small and is pretty light (about 3.5kg inc the extra footprint). Not a long roll, but more of a rectangular pack and so can be put into half a Givi top box, so a really convenient shape for bike touring
Once you've done it once or twice, I reckon pitching is a 4-5 min job, from the top box.
It has a decent sized porch area, provided you don't try to park you bike in it.
It has its own carry sack with handles.

Cons:
I would not say it is big enough for two people who also have bike kit.
It only has one entrance.
It is black so don't pitch it in the midday: wait till a bit later, eh?

It has all its pegs, poles and lines.

It is a nice, compact, comfy tent that is pretty much as "new" and, given my Dad's criteria for camping, has not had a hard life! The last I saw it, in July last year, it looked in perfect nick, and it hasn't been used since. Unlike new tents you can buy for similar money, it is not flimsy and has a proper nylon groundsheet, not like that tarpaulin base festival tent business that you get in Millets!

My Dad lives in West London and would be happy with £40 collected, £45 posted. (extra if you want insurance).

If you're interested, PM with some contact details, and I'll pass them on.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
