Large Plastic Tank For MT350
I'm looking for a large Tank for my MT350 to give more range, the standard tank takes 11l I'm looking for about 20l
appaerntly Honda XL 500 tanks and early XT600 tanks fit the bike, any one got one they wouldn't mind parting with??

I don't have an MT but I do have a CCM with the same Rotax engine. I also have a Honda XR600 with three tanks of varying sizes. None of the Honda tanks will fit the CCM - firstly because the gap in the middle of the tanks is too small for the CCM frame and secondly, even if you could get the tank on somehow, the top of the Rotax cambelt tower hits the bottom of the tank.
Maybe the MT frame is different and a Honda tank will go on but looking at the pictures of the LR tank on the Apophis site the gap between the sides is much larger than the Honda tanks. They've also got the front mounts molded so the tank will sit quite high up - possibly because of the cam tower. If you're going to go the Honda / Yamaha route I'd suggest try before you buy.

Thanks for the delayed reply, I saw the apophis tanks on the MT riders forum, but have just sold my MT.
In the end i bought a plastic acerbis tank from a yamaha XT500 It fitted ok with out tomuch trouble

Yes, I saw that the original post was from a while ago but I did wonder whether the tank info might help anyone with an older Rotax CCM (or even the slightly newer Suzuki engined ones) wondering how to get a larger tank for the bike.

After it so faithfully carried you all the way down to Morroco and back (well some of the way back)

Unortunately Yes, as the next plan is a Long trip with the better half an MT is too tall for her. We have found a shorter bike that we are both happier with so we don't have to double up on parts to carry with us.
So the MT has gone (but to a very good home, where i know she'll be looked after) so I can afford my next travel bike.

Yep - waiting.
I know there is a 'long range' (20 litre) tank for near 300£ but I keep reading about Xl and XT tanks but can find no evidence of people having done it........

I have had 18 Ltr XT 500 Yam and XL500 20Ltr & 23 Ltr. tanks on an ex army MT500 Armstrong (same as MT350 for these purposes) and they fit straight on, only needing a bit of extra spacing at the rear bracket. There are photos of this set up on the MTRC forum. Just search for them.
