Aluminium pannier 200 euros a pair with rack

I've been on the look out for some cheap aluminium panniers and came across these, a complete set for for 200 euros.

Has anyone used a set, as they look just the job with a very honest description.

I have been using these boxs for the last two years, and have been on big road trips round europe, they are good for cheap boxes but will not stand up to off road, my bike fell once and they split, i repaired it and there still in use, my idea is at that price i will just buy another one.

I have a look at the Alpos boxes, am I right in thinking you just brought a couple and then engineered them to fit a frame, as they don't seem to be specifically for bikes, althought I may have missed something on the web site?

Alpos are a major metal production group in Slovenia, and are not specifically motorcycle oriented, that seems to be why there is no information about their panniers on their website.

This is of limited interest, but anyone who lives near on in Slovenia can order a set of panniers at any MERKUR hardware store.

Something you need to take into consideration about the Alpo cases is that the aluminum is only .0397" thick compared to the .08" thick aluminum that most major brands like Jesse, Happy Trails, Moto Sport, and MotoMule use.

The good thing about the Alpo's is that they are pressed out of a single piece of aluminum which is going to make them stronger, but in a hard fall they are going to crush in a lot more than another brand.

Yet on both web sites given there is no mention of that thickness. The first one states the A series, the cheapest, is 0.8mm and the Bykebitz says they are 1mm.
Did I miss something?

double check me on this, but I think I have it right from their description.

I've not worked it out but I admit I missed the different measurement thing.
