Africa Twin Metal Mules & rack F/S UK

Having arrived back from CapeTown in February I still have my metal mules panniers and racks which I will now make available for sale:

We asked MM to do us a one-off white paint for the desert and sure enough it kept the contents safe from the heat of the sun. The boxes are in pretty good condition for 15,000 miles including a couple of crashes. The box sizes are Medium and Large (you can just about get a medium helmet in the Large pannier!) and the optional tie-down loops on the lid and the spring-loaded top/sidehandles all work fine. The pannier frames are very second hand and will require someone who is handy with a 'torch'. We found that the design needs to be strengthened with a better numberplate crossmember anyway and hence mine needs to be welded back on one side.

This kit is tough. The boxes are great and with some work this 800quid set could be back up functioning on someone's bike.

PM me - best offer secures and I'll try and get some pics up in the meantime.

gotta go!

Just checked. These are currently £1,279.99 for powdercoated panniers and frames!

It's a 38ltr on one side, 45 litre on the other side! And we took those bikes through mud and sand fully-loaded etc! I'm not looking silly money, more to get rid...

Metal Mule price rise.... - Honda Trail Bike Forums

I think the panniers are worth a couple of hundred for the pair and I'll throw the rack in too!

Auctioning

There has been a fair bit of interest in these and I keep having to empty my inbox to leave enough room to receive the comments. It wouldn't be fair to turn around and put these on ebay but I think that sealed bids auction would be the fairest.

PM me here or on XRV.org - offers greater than £195 for the boxes and racks and if it's large enough it's yours. Sorry but I haven't met any of you yet and feel this is a fair way to do it.

Ed
