WTB Bike Mid July Toronto
I'm going to a family wedding in Toronto in mid July, and since the nice people at work are letting me have a month off i'm going to take the opportunity to going out East touring.
I've looked at rental, but with the daily insurance costs and mileage limits, it seems it would be cheaper to buy.
The route would be to cut across the north east of the US, Vermont, Maine etc, then back into Canada, to Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and possibly Labrador to do the Trans Labrador Highway. Given that, i'm torn between a KLR650 which would be better for the TLH or a cruiser for the easier road miles before that, and just tough out the non-tarmac section. The cruiser would also be better if i decide to leave it at a cousins for future trips in North America.
I've researched the TLH and read a blog of a couple 2 up on a dress Harley pulling a trailer, so i know it is possible, depending on the weather.
I've got a bike budget of C$4,000, so if you have something you think may be suitable please let me know.
