WANTED: Start of July, Colombia Bogota, $3k to spend
Hi all,
I'll be arriving Colombia start of July with the girlfriend and need a two up capable bike for the month. I'd like to rent if possible, but would also buy a machine and have about $3000 to spend. Would also like to be able to sell the machine at the end of the month back to the seller, but that isn't a top priority. Thanks for any replies, Tim Butler eightiesrock@hotmail.com |

Hey mate,
I have a friend who works in an AKT store in Bogota, if you didn't mind riding a half chinese / half colombian motorcycle around Colombia then I could message her on Facebook, she added me after selling us our bikes last year. They come with a 12,000km guarantee (more than enough for Colombia), free services every 2000kms and they have stores all over the country. The paperwork takes 5 days to process and then you're on your way. Also you could easily resell the bike upon returning to Bogota, we sold ours in Cartegena within 2 days and there was only 3 compra-ventas for motorcycles there, in Bogota they have like 100. Keep in mind that in most of Colombia the roads are top notch but they move slowly with all the corners and trucks etc so you don't need a big bike there, we had two 125s and never really needed anything more. A 200cc would be more than fine if you're going 2-up. Anyways message me if you want me to contact her and also this is their website if you want to see what they have: http://www.akt.com.co AKT were really good to us and I highly recommend them to anyone, especially those who are on a budget. |

BMW F650 GS Dakar
Hi mate,
I´ve got a BMW for sale, it´s UK registered. I´ll be in Colombia on it in June, flying out on 20th. A good friend of mine came to join me for two weeks riding in Melbourne (I´m coming towards the end of my RTW) and said it was the most comfortable bike she´d been on, and you´ve got to keep the ladies happy! It´s got a thick sheepskin seat cover. Around 50,000 miles by the time you´d get it, everything is good although if you´re coming from the states it wouldn´t hurt to bring a set of brake pads front and rear (only one disc on each wheel, so total of four pads). Also there´d be spares with the bike, and if you really twisted my arm I´d throw the metal panniers in which should swallow your luggage easily (approx 40ltrs each I think). Email me if you´re interested, I´m only looking for US$3,000 All the best Rick silentboarder69@yahoo.co.uk |
