Wanted: KLR650 or DR650 in Anchorage (01Aug08)

Hello,

I am trying to find a KLR650 or a DR650 in Anchorage. Would prefer newish model and if I was to wish on a genie it would have been lowered, spec'd up for a Pan American trip but am willing to settle for less.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Regards,
Annette

Annette- glad to hear your trip is finally happening!

I saw tonnes of KLRs up in Alaska, a lot of rented ones too so am pretty sure you'll find something fairly easily. However I can thoroughly recommend the DR650 as I have one now for my ride back to Scotland though you may also want to look at the lowering conversion for it as they're quite high, especially if you put the wider Corbin seat on (the original seat is killer by the way!)

Good luck with it

apparently none

Hi Mike,

Thanks - I know about time! Thanks for the recommendation. I think that I will end up with what I can get a hold of though would prefer the DR as it is a bit lower than the KLR.

You would think it isn't that hard to get a bike in Alaska - but it is proving very difficult.

Hi Andy,

I followed up on that one you sent two days ago and the bloke had 5 phone calls before I phoned him on the day he listed it. He bought it in Dec and has had the bike shop keep it for him since then as it seems like none of the bike shops are getting enduro bikes in this summer. Strange. But thanks for the look out.

Right now I am following up on shipping this one from Wyoming up to Anchorage

Off of the advrider as well. I like the colour.

Klr 650

Hi!

I've had my KLR lowered. It didn't cost me an arm or a leg either. Regarding the ride and reliability: check out www.naboom2germany.co.za At this moment he's on his way to St Petersburg in Russia.
