Hi Roland,

Check out HunterNielson's thread on this very same forum from 7 June - he is looking to sell his BMW Dakar (with up-graded suspension among other things) in Ethiopia around that time.

Miles and I will be in Ethiopia in a few weeks, Jim too it looks like...we could do a big Bike Extravaganza or something, fighting for your sale!

By the way, do you know of places in Addis where I could put up For Sale posters? I'm keen to sell in Ethiopia rather than ride back down to Kenya even though I've already found plenty of buyers, since the stretch between here and there is hazardous. Any info on that would be great.

thanks for your mail but I'll be in Ethiopia early Jan to early March and I am LOOKING for a bike. But check out the other replies. Maybe those can help. Good luck. I'll still be interesting in buying your bikes when you are still in Ethiopia on the 4th of jan.

Hello Roland,

I am currently in Addis until Tuesday and I have two bikes to sell. One is a '92 XT and the other is a '86 Tenere. Let me know if you're interested. On Tuesday we head off for the historical route and will be back at the end of February with the bikes.

By the way, the bikes have already have luggage and jerricans if you're interested.

thanks for your reply. I'm also in addis at the moment. I even think I saw your bikes. are you staying in the debra damos hotel??
I have done the first leg of my travels through ethiopia bij 4wd now. we could rent one without drive so that's what we did. The other bikes here(as you properly know) are to smal/light. In a few days I leave addis to drive for a month through the south (omo, bale etc.) als by 4x4. So I don't need a motorbike anymore.
Enjoy your travels through the north. We just did the whole circuit in 3 weeks. Great trip! If you need some info about roads etc. I'm staynig in baro hotel in the piazza.(till the2nd of march).
