WANTED: Bike in Chile (Santiago) July 2011

Hi All, I'm going to south america in july and flying to Santiago (Chile). I am looking at buying a bike to travel NE from Chile to Bolivia then to Peru then SE through Brazil to Paraguay and then down to BA in argentina. Its i long route and will be traveling for a good 6 months so i need a reliable bike with a some good storage.

I have a budget of 3000/4000 max.

Also would like to hear if anyone could recommend a bike?

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards
Gary

I have an idea..

I have a Suzuki DL650 V-Strom from 2008, Black on Black! Super cool with many mods and very, very well taken care of.
I'm from Denmark but the bike was bought in the US, titled and registered in Florida. Clean with no liens.

It is by far the most reliable bike I have ever owned. Oil, filter, chain & sprocket and this baby is rolling. There was a guy that took a V-strom 2-up from England to Australia and it didn't even blow a lightbulb. They've made the engine for more than 12 years which I believe says a thing or two about the reliability of the machine.

I am in Costa Rica now, flying across the Darien, so no saltwater to toast the bike. The bike currently has 21.000 miles on the clock and I think that it will hit around 30-35K before I am done. My lowest selling price is around 4000$

I'm flying out of Sao Paolo around June/July 2011 - don't know if you bought your ticket yet, but I'm sure we could work something out.

For pics send me an email on locomototrip@gmail.com

Cheers
Patrick

vSTORM

Hi Patrick, Yeah might be interested in your bike, I have already booked my flights though, I fly into BA on the 25th of july. Can I transfer the title and Reg into my name. Also do you currently have insurance, and could you advise me on the paperwork I don’t want to have problem with an illegal bike. In Brazil or argentina.

Kind Regards
Gary
