I made it to Guatemala from Ecuador on my beloved Qingqi bike and I recently decided I'll join a bicycle caravan going further north.
This being the case, I'm selling my bike.
It's a chinese brand, Qingqi, which has a lot of Suzuki parts and I have to say I was very pleased with this bike. If anybody is interested in the story of my ride up from Ecuador and impressions of the bike they can read it here: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...-chinese-66770
So, this bike has a 200cc engine. It's no prob for the mountains if it's one person and luggage. Two up with stuff is OK under 1000m elevation let's say.
I recently had it greased and had the rear brake shoes replaced.
The chain and sprockets are about two months old and will last a long time still, same thing for the tyres. Rear tyre will be good for another 5-7000 kms I reckon.
Engine oil was changed last week.
It was built in 2011 and has 11000 KMs on the clock, which is not working but you'll have to take my word for it. I changed oil every 1000 KMs more or less and since it stopped counting (at 6000 kms) I changed it five times.
The bike is in really good condition, I always took very good care of it. Also, it comes with two helmets (one decent helmet - a closed one - and one mediocre open helmet); knee and shin protection; a comprehensive tool set; leather gloves and it has a lackered plank on the back with hooks and bungees to fit a backpack and additional stuff. I used to carry two backpacks on there at some stage.
I also have a user's manual to give with it.
This bike has ecuadorian plates, so I would like to sell it on one of the Guatemala-Honduras border stations or on the Guatemala-Mexico border but then you would have to wait three months supposedly to be able to bring it back into Guatemala. I just came through El Salvador and they have a similar regulation, so that's not an option.
The sale would be with a notarized bill of sale and power of attorney or fixed papers.
Price would be around US$1200.
I'll try to upload some pictures soon... If you're interested or have any questions, feel free to contact me. I'm staying in a pretty secluded place which has no internet so it might take a day or two for me to answer.
Peace and love to all!
