UPDATE: BIKE SOLD!

BIKE IS NOW FOR SALE AT $4500USD + PLUS WILLING TO DELIVER TO ECUADOR THOUGH PREFERENCE IS FOR SALE BEFORE 10th OF NOV.

My 2008 KLR650 (Californian Title) will be available for sale from the beginning of November. I'm currently in Colombia, heading south, and have estimated I will have reached Peru by November. However, I would also consider extending the trip, riding to Chile for December, dependent on responses to this ad.

The bike comes with Caribou's rock solid, water-tight, 36 litre luggage system (2 x boxes + installed rack kit) and, as of yesterday, has new Pirelli MT40 tires front and rear.

In addition to the luggage system, I'll be passing on the following essentials: tank bag, spare front and rear tubes, spare KLR oil filter, tire irons, CO2 inflation system (plus repair kit), tie-down straps, Bully Security Chain and a small toolkit. After five months on the road, I'd be happy to supply a list of nice-to-haves that you may wish to source in addition to the above.

The bike has been serviced as follows:

• Break-in: Dealer Serviced in Sacramento, California, by PCP Motorsports.

• 8,000 miles: Dealer Serviced in Puebla, Mexico, by Kawasaki de Puebla.

• 12,000 miles: Dealer Serviced in Bogota, Colombia, by Auteco (inc. brake pads changed).

Current mileage is 12,500 but expect this to be nearer 16,000 miles by the time the trip finishes.

Hey there;
I may be down there by then but wondering how it works transfering title/plates/insurance etc.

i.e. I bought a Toyota truck last year and Mexico and tried to cross into Guatemala...they would not let the vehicle in as the title, etc needed to exactly match the name on my passport.

Have you done this before?

I am afraid early Dec is the latest I can stay travelling for. Unless you are prepared to pay for the bike before seeing it AND can find a third party for me to leave it with, I am not sure it will be possible.

I'm ready to put a deposit on your KLR but morangad is probably closer to you, if you could let me know as soon as possible because if not then I will have to freight a bike by sea and will need to do so in about 20 days.
