For Sale: 2001 F650gs BMW in Argentina/Chile
Hey guys, I am trying to sell my 2001 F650gs BMW motorcycle in Argentina/Chile. Currently I am in Southern Ecuador and I plan to end my trip in late Feburary or early March and sell the bike in Argentina or Chile.
My bike has 24k miles currently and is in great condition for having made a trip like this. By the end of the trip the bike will have 30-35k miles. The bike has been regularly maintained during this trip according to BMW maitenance intervals. Right now the panels on the bike are covered with a protective plastic like LaminX and over the plastic I have put on a few layers of duct tape to protect the panels from being scratched or sun fading. When the tape is removed the panels will look the same way they did when I left home. I am going to post the pictures that I took yesterday of the bike. I am also going to post a picture of my bike in Baja Mexico so you can see what color the bike actually is. Please ignore the oem plastic side cases in this picture because they have been superceded by the functional aluminum panniers that I have now. I am still thinking up a price for the bike. I have had a couple pretty good local offers on the bike so far and am still making up my mind on the price. Thank You, Geoff

Here are the old pictures first. I am having trouble resizing the new ones so I will need a little time to get those up.

bumpity bump
BTW: If there is anyone planning to do this trip soon I can not tell you how much money you start your trip in Argentina so you don´t have to pay to have a bike shipped back to the US.

Hey guys, I am currently in Temuco, Chile and am headed South to Ushuaia. After Ushuaia I will head to Buenos Aires. I just installed a new chain and sprockets and the bike is running like new again.
I will sell the bike at any point on this trip and finish the small rest of the bit by buss. Please let me know your offer if interested. Thank You, Geoff

Hey guys, I finally reached Buenos Aires and am trying to sell the bike here. The bike comes with high quality Touratech copy panniers that I bought from a BMW mechanic in Colombia. Also included are crash bars, parts, and a few other helpful bonus goodies.

Just had the bike sorted out at the top motorcycle repair shop here in Paraguay ($300). In addition the bike has a new chain, new sprockets, new clutch cable, new oil filter, and new air filter. It is ready to journey back up the continent.
Currently in Asuncion but leaving for Buenos Aires tomorrow. $4500 Thank You, Geoff
