FOR SALE 1985 Yamaha XT 600 Ténéré 34L

For sale is my lovely Yamaha XT600 Ténéré 34L with toolkit and manual
This bike is French registered (carte d'immatriculation ou carte grise = registration paper)

I sell this bike because I need money to pay for a training. This bike is really good fun and I will miss it!

This model was made in 1985 and is all original in Gauloise blue and yellow. As you can see in the pictures (more pictures here:
Flickr: gauloise_bleue's Photostream), it has all the original plastic including the yellow fork gaiters, side panels, oversized front mudguard, hand guards, front light fairing, indicators, plate holder and rear lights. It also comes with the alloy sump guard, an almost new set of Dunlop Trailmax tyres, the original full-length side-stand (these are usually cut down) and the original toolkit.

Engine, carb and exhaust are all stock. The seat cover has no splits or tears and is in excellent condition. The chain and sprocket set was changed less than 1000Km ago. Unusually, it still has both mirrors. The bike has just been professionally refurbished. This included a cylinder honing and new piston rings, so it's got full compression. While the top end was off, it was de-coked and the valves were ground in. The bottom end was disassembled for inspection (no work was needed) and put back together with a new gasket set. The forks were rebuilt with new seals. The oil was changed and a new filter installed. The air filter was also replaced. The valve timing was adjusted and a new spark plug fitted. It's done only about 100Km since this work and rides beautifully.

The bad stuff:
It's not mint, there a few bits of split plastic here and there, missing paint, stone chips and other marks. Please check the photos carefully.

There is a problem with the left-hand switch gear (see photo) in that the lights cannot be turned off without using a screwdriver. The lights can be switched from dipped to high beam as normal, though.

The bike is available for inspection in Rouen, France. Please email if you would like to come and see it. English bidders are welcome. Rouen is close to Dieppe and the bike can be easily delivered to or collected from the UK by agreement.

Please ask about payment methods and delivery costs. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, I will reply swiftly.

Happing bidding! It ends on
10 Oct. 2010 23:56:49 Heure de Paris. Ebay France. Item number 250706080347

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events (22 this year!); we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, the HUBB or to receive the e-zine. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
