Londoner-
I am definately excited to get to corfu and explore the island[s] and surrounding areas. I have been to Europe previously but have never had the opportunity to see it from facets other than public transit. I currently have an IDP (international drivers permit) which should be sufficient in greece and most other countries but i am not really sure what a V5 is and i dont really know how to get insurance on a vehicle i dont own yet... I assume a v5 is another name for a document that verifys ownership but all of your input is very helpful. Are you working in Corfu or just on holiday for the summer? Ohh, one more question, i lived in the UK last year and i have an Orange phone,(which is worthless in the States) is it worth bringing to Greece/Corfu?
Thanks for your timely response and assistance.
cheers!

Hi Tate,v5 is the same as your title or pink slip.If you need insurance its easy cos you can get it from alpha bank from 6 to 12 months with a 30% refund if you cancel it,all the insurance companys will insure any bike weather its greek or non euro plates, also non euro passport holders are no problem.I can speak a little greeek and it would be no problem to help you any time.I used tp have a s.h motorcycle shop in London and i sold up and moved to corfu 3 years ago (no regrets its great)i basicaly live off the interest from the money i made from the sale of my house and shops in the u.k ,i also have a small condo in boka cheeka near key west fl and i spend some winters in the the u.s .Hope we can meet up and you can come on rides with the club to the islands etc, anyway by 4 now=Londoner

Londoner-
Well i must thank you for your knowledge and information about motorcycle purchase, insurance, etc... It seems that everything is pretty relaxed in Corfu, which is perfect cuz I have had enough of corporate america, and america. I am meeting up with an Auzi mate in London on the 5th of May and we plan on arriving in Corfu on the 8th. I guess he has a connection who is gunna hook us up with jobs and accom's for the summer. I am not sure which part of the island it is on, which part would you recommend?
Thanks again for your help its much appreciated.
My mobile # is 0779 128 5150 and will work when i arrive in london, I will most definately contact you when i arrive in Corfu. Talk soon.

Hi Tate, yes corfu is very laid back and relaxed, after a couple of days youl find you become the same.you wont find it a problem to find work here cos you arrive right at the start of the tourist season which lasts till end of october.I know lots of bar and club /restaurant owners that need workers if you have any problems landing work. When you get to london you should phone orange and get them to activate international roaming on your phone then you will automaticaly log on to greek network when you land.If you have got a cheap hotel thats good ,if not let me know cos i can hook you up with a real cheap deal in any of the resorts [its a small island and most people know me as the english guy with lots of bikes]my mates are coming from u.k and l.a on may 25 bunch of skirt chasing wankers should be fun so give us a bell and we can all hook up cheers 4 now. p.s my house is 5 mins from airport and if i am free i can pick you up from airport ,i have a station wagon, otherwise make sure the cab drivers dont rip you off.

L-
From the sounds of it i picked the right place to be this summer. My Aussie friend has a connection and i think he is gunna put us up with a job and maybe an apartment, we are kinda sceptical because we would like to be in a popular area, eitherway its good to know people who know people. It sounds like we will fit in with your "skirt chasing" friends as we are probably just like them, on the piss and on the go. So what exactly do you do on the island, are you just on a 3-year holiday or do you work? Holiday is always better so i hope you are doing just that.
Anyway, we are flying into Athens and taking a bus from there, its like 8 hours or something absurd but i appreciate you offering us a ride, we may have to take you up on it when we get to the island. I am excited to get a bike, i havent owned one in a couple of years...the weather hear can be quite extreme.
Gotta run... talk to ya later.

Ok, you are officially my tour guide. It seems that your priorities are straight, and mine seem to agree with yours. Its rumoured that its easy to find work at the beginning of the summer season and you stated that in a previous text, but is it necessary to have a an EU passport or working visa or whatever the hell they call them... I dont have one or plan on getting one, most people dont like americans and i cant understand why no one wants to give us visas....LOL! I guess we are good with guns and thats it! LMAO! I really dont need a job but i dont really want to depleat my savings and the more free time i have the more fun i will have which isnt always a good thing. Anyway just thot i would drop you a quick reply. What kinda bike would you suggest purchasing, I was thinking Enduro cause i used to race moto-X and have a hard time staying on the pavement with any vehicle.... your opinion???
C-ya later...
