KTM Adv 2003, London, UK

KTM 640 Adventurer, 2003 model.
Mileage: 13,500

The bike is in good condition and has been used on an overland trip in North Africa. Well looked after, recently serviced and ready to go …. anywhere !

Great to ride, very reliable. The bike is currently set up with rear fuel tanks (15 litres) , bespoke aluminium panniers and rally bashplate. Also has;

New chain and sprockets
Full KTM dealer service
KTM Enduro competition silencer
Rally (wide) footpegs
Touratech headlamp protector

The bike is for sale without all the overland bits – i.e returned to standard condition but with the parts listed above for 3850 GPB. The rear tanks and other parts are for sale seperately but I’d negotiate on a deal for the whole lot.

Overland and Travel Parts for Sale at Additional Cost

Rear Fuel Tanks and Pannier System.
Professionally built at Overlandsolutions.com. This gives the bike a further 15 litres of fuel and plenty of storage space. System comes with own subframe, and mini rear rack. 1250GBP

KTM Sommer Rally Bashplate
These cost 560 Euros new. The one on the bike is a bit dented here and there but fine apart from that. 200GBP

Service Spares Kit
Includes filters, spark plug, gaskets etc. 60GBP

email me for a picture or visit www.overlandsolutions.com and look for Satisfied customers / Simon Greenlkeaf to see pictures of the bike being put together....

If you're wondering ..... I'm selling because for the next 18 month I plan to enter a 450 in a series of Rallies and I need the money for that bike.

Simon,

Can you give me an idea of the cost for just the rear tanks, panniers, rack, and bash plate?

Ta

Dave

ps is the bash plate fitted with water or tools box (or both!) I've never seen one up close.

Hi Dave,
The Rally bash plate has two tool boxes built into to it. These are basically big enough to carry everything apart from tyre levers. KTM- Sommer can supply a water carrier that you bolt on in place of one of the tool boxes. The actual bash plate is 4mm ali and the toolboxes are 2mm I think.

The Panniers and Subframe are all hand built by Ernie at OS and are in pretty good nick. 3mm ali boxes and powder coated steel subframe.

The rear tanks are Acerbis and plastic and I think are from a 1997 KTM LC4 Rally bike... but I'm not 100% sure about that. They hold 15 litres between them and I'd supply fuel lines for them.

I've already priced them above in my first post... so you should use that as a guide and make me an offer if you like.

Quite a lot of interest though... so I'm not looking to sell cheap !..... mainly because it all cost me a fortune (tank and pannier set up was 1700 GPB.... bashplates cost 560 euros at Sommers.)

email Goeff Van d Mere or Ian Thomson... both use the HUBB a lot and know my bike... or come and ahve a look when I get back to London in ten days or so.

Adios,

Simon

You're going to have to work on that spelling of my name Simon, I hardly recognised that you were referring to me there ; )

Dave, the tank/pannier system on Simon's bike is neat, tidy and sturdy. He came out to Salisbury plains with us a few times with the whole setup on and it didn't appear to make a difference to the bike handling.

Don't buy the rally bashplate though, it's crap. (in other words, I want it) : )

Those very side tanks got me through some some long tough pistes, and last time I saw it the bike itself went very well. BTW you need to work on the spelling of my name as well...

Sadly I had to pay for three trips this summer which meant I had no cash to pay for anything even at the costs you offered. When I got back I assumed all would have sold. However, do you still have any of the extras?

Hi Dave,
I still have the rear tanks, panniers, sub frames and the tool box / bashplate for sale. I need to sell the whole lot together as one piece and I'm looking for £750 for the lot. You can see it all at www.overlandsolutions.com - Simon Greenleaf.

Are you in London ?

cheers,

Simon

Hi Simon,

Really just out of interest ( although fantasy can always become reality ), what kind of price would you be thinking about for the full set up ie bike with tanks/panniers/sub frame.

Thanks

James
